Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammad bin Naif received at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah today with Yemeni President Abdu Rabbo Mansur Hadi.
During the reception, they discussed issues of common interest, in addition to reviewing latest developments, in Yemen, especially the warfare situation.
The president highly appreciated the Kingdom’s stand towards Yemen and its people, especially backing up the legitimacy and providing the Yemeni people with relief as well as medical assistances.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center set up a temporary camp for displaced people in Al Abr District, 97 kilometers south of Al-Wadeiah Border Crossing. The camp will provide full services to meet the need for stranded people, including electricity, air conditioning, and drinking water. As many as 3,000 Yemenis have benefited from the camp so far.
In its weekly statement, the Ministry of Health said that it recorded 34 positive confirmed cases of respiratory Middle East syndrome virus (Corona) during the past week, including 33 cases in Riyadh and one case in Najran.

The Cabinet began by is meeting by extending its condolences to the families of the martyrs killed in a terrorist attack at a mosque used by members of the Special Emergency Force. The Vice Custodian stated that “whoever tries to tamper with the security of the Kingdom and its people will find the response practically and immediately in the field without any delay.”

Voter registration began in Makkah and Madinah on August 16, a week ahead of national due to the arrival of pilgrims in the two holy cities. The third municipal elections are scheduled for December 12. At a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier in Berlin today, Minister Al-Jubeir rejected foreign interference in the case of Raif Badawi as an interference in a domestic judicial matter. Minister Al-Jubeir said the Kingdom has an independent judiciary and will not tolerate any outside interference in the matter.

Saudi Arabia joined Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as an Observer Member at the third FATF Plenary meeting of Plenary year FATF-XXVI, which was held in Brisbane, Australia in June. Observer Membership is a prelude to full membership.
The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) said today in a statement that the move by FATF is a recognition of the Kingdom’s adherence to FATF’s standards and that the Kingdom has been a member of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF) since 2005.
