Saudi Arabia and the High Commissioner of the United Nations for Refugees (UNHCR) signed a cooperation agreement under which the Kingdom will contribute $5 million to help the displaced Syrians. This came on the sidelines of the 3rd International Pledging Humanitarian Conference for Syria held in Kuwait today in the presence of the Minister of Finance Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf. The agreement was signed by Saudi Fund for Development representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi National Campaign to Support Brothers in Syria has dispatched its 28th convoy for displaced civilians in southern Syria. The Campaign's Regional Director Dr. Badr Al-Samhan said that the aid convoy consists of 10 trucks containing 41.6 tons of relief supplies valued at $512,000. The aid convoy is expected to enter Syria across the Jordanian border under the umbrella of U.N. Security Council Resolution 2191.
Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, received at his office in Riyadh today Speaker of the US House of Representatives John Boehner and the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest in the context of the prospects for cooperation and the historical relations between the two friendly countries. The Arab leaders have agreed in principle to form a joint military force to address growing Arab challenges and threats. The resolution came following two-day meetings that focused on Yemen, Libya, Syria and terrorism.
Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir appeared on CBS Face the Nation and NBC Meet the Press today, where he was asked about the Saudi-led intervention in Yemen as well as Iran nuclear talks.
Speaking with Bob Schieffer on CBS Face the Nation, Ambassador Al-Jubeir took issue with references to the intervention in Yemen as a “proxy war” between Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shi’ite Iran. He described it as “a war of necessity” after the Houthis violated 67 agreements.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and US President Barack Obama talked about the recent developments in Yemen. During the telephone conversation, President Obama expressed full US support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Determination Storm and underscored the US commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security. King Salman thanked the president for the US offer to provide the Kingdom with the support it needs.
The Ministry of Defense announced today that an F-15S crashed in the Red Sea after its two pilots ejected safely the aircraft. The two pilots were rescued in collaboration with US military and taken to King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushayt for medical check up. Both pilots are reported in good health and high spirits.

The Royal Saudi Navy Forces on Wednesday evacuated the staff of Saudi Embassy in Yemen and Saudi Consulate in Aden in addition to a number of foreign diplomatic missions in Yemen. A total of 86 diplomats were evacuated by two navy ships of the coast of Aden. The evacuees arrived early today at King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received two letters today, one from Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf on the depth of bilateral relations and his keenness on ensuring their continuity, and another from Sweden's Prime Minister Stefan Lofven in which he expressed deep sorrow and regret over the current crisis in the relations between the two countries, stressing the keenness of his government to maintain the relations between the two countries.

President Hadi was received at Riyadh Airbase by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, President of the Royal Court and Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; and Chief of General Intelligence Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan.

Saudi Arabia has launched military operations in Yemen, as part of a coalition of over ten countries in response to a direct request from the legitimate government of Yemen, Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir announced at a press conference at the embassy in Washington this evening.
“The operation,” Ambassador Al-Jubeir said, “will be limited in nature, and designed to protect the people of Yemen and its legitimate government from a takeover by the Houthis. A violent extremist militia.”

Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal met today with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in Riyadh. During their meeting, they discussed bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of common interest. While discussing efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through peaceful means, Prince Saud stated, “[solution] is possible through the League of Arab States to make the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Middle East region free of weapons of mass destruction and that in return, it is not possible to grant Iran an undeserved deal.”
Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal said today that efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through peaceful means is possible, however, Iran should not get an "undeserved deal.” During a joint press conference with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in Riyadh, Prince Saud stated, a peaceful solution to Iran’s nuclear program is “possible through the League of Arab States to make the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Middle East region free of weapons of mass destruction and that in return, it is not possible to grant Iran an undeserved deal.”
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muqrin in Abdulaziz today sent separate cables of condolences to Iranian President Dr. Hassan Rouhani on the death of his mother. In their cables, King Salman and Crown Prince Murqin said expressed their “deep condolences and sincere sympathy, asking Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy and forgiveness upon her soul."
Pakistani army special forces arrived in Taif on Saturday to take part in a joint exercise with the Saudi Royal Land Forces' in the fifth "Samsam" exercise, which kicks off early next week at King Salman Mountain Warfare Center in Baha. Saudi Royal Air Forces, Land Forces Aviation and Border Patrol units will participate in the exercise.

Saudi National Campaign to Support Brothers in Syria continued providing bread for the Syrian displaced people in Aleppo and Idlib through mobile bakeries. Since the program began about two years ago to now, over 60,000 loaves of bread have been distributed daily to nearly 4,000 Syrian families for a total of some 33 million loaves at a cost about $544,000.

The Saudi National Campaign to Support Syrian Brothers funded medical centers in Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan treats 2,629 Syrian patients per week, Medical Director of the Saudi Specialized Clinics Dr. Muhammad Ismail Zoubi said today.
There are currently 13 specialized health centers operating in the camp and are part of the Kingdom’s national campaign at supporting the Syrian refugees and to provide health care to the camp residents. Specialized health centers at the Zaatari camp comprise 13 medical clinics including specialized cardiology, dermatology and surgery units.
Saudi Arabia today condemned the terrorist attacks in Aden and Sana’a as a threat to the security and unity of the country and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz has ordered dispatch of urgent medical aid to treat the wounded and offered to transfer victims of the terrorist attacks in Aden and Sana’a to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that due to the offensive remarks made by Sweden’s Foreign Minister against the Kingdom, the Saudi Arabia has recalled its ambassador to Sweden.
An official source at the Foreign Ministry said the move is in response to the offensive remarks made by Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom which are a blatant interference in the Kingdom’s internal affairs. Saudi Arabia considers her remarks as contrary to international conventions and diplomatic norms and do not conform with the friendly relations between the countries.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today rejected international criticism over the Raef Badawi case as an infringement on its national sovereignty. The Foreign Ministry stresses that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia totally rejects any form of interference in its internal affairs and any impingement on its sovereignty or the independence and impartiality of its judiciary. The source added that judges have absolute powers in their rulings and that all cases under review before courts are dealt with without distinction, exception, or improper influence.
The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-AsShaikh called on all Muslims in the world to use the internet and social media to cooperate in achieving the Muslim nations' interests and aims of combating terrorism. The Grand Mufti stressed that it is important to combat terrorism and misleading ideologies by cooperating with authorities and intellectuals and members of the society to raise the upcoming generation in a good manner.
