Two and a half years ago, we met as the Friends of Syria Group, to announce our support for the right of the Syrian people to freedom and dignity. At the time, there were no terrorist organizations operating in Syria, no moderate and extremist opposition, and no use of chemical weapons against unarmed innocent civilian.
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal addressed the Global Counterterrorism Forum yesterday in New York to discuss international efforts toward combatting global terrorism.
During his remarks, Prince Saud stated, “Faced with such serious realities, we are required today to initiate polices and take fateful and resolute decisions to confront this vicious attack with full force and determination, and to act seriously and swiftly, taking into account the element of time and the consequences of inaction.”
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its 84th (according to the Hijra calendar) anniversary of the foundation of the Saudi state by King Abdulaziz Al-Saud in 1932.

As the birthplace of Islam and the home of the Two Holy Mosques, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rejects extremists and terrorists who aim to subvert the Islamic faith. Saudi officials and religious scholars have long been vocal in condemning terrorism and extremism.
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today, the Council of Senior Ulema (religious scholars) issued a fatwa (religious opinion) reemphasizing that terrorism is a “heinous crime, injustice and aggression rejected by Shariah (Islamic law).” The Council concluded its 80th session, held in Riyadh, with a review of the speech given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, in which he warned about the threat of terrorism and implored the international community to support the fight against terrorists and extremists.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Saudi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud spoke about the importance of global collaboration in combating international extremism after a meeting yesterday with French President Francois Hollande and Prime Minister Manuel Valls.
In a joint communique, the two sides stressed that terrorism is a global phenomenon threatening all societies and is not linked to any race or belief.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today, the Ministry of Interior announced that Saudi Arabia arrested 88 people suspected of terror links. According to a statement, the arrests took place over the past few days and in several regions in the Kingdom.
For months, Saudi Arabia has been monitoring these suspects and, recently, has seen evidence of intended evil at home and abroad. The individuals are accused of terrorism-related offenses, including terror financing, rendering assistance to terrorists and promoting extremist groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
