(WASHINGTON, DC) - The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, ordered the provision of $500 million in humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people who have suffered greatly from recent events, including those who have been displaced, regardless of their religion, sect or ethnicity.

Jeddah was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites Saturday. The World Heritage Committee, meeting in Doha, has added Jeddah to the World Heritage List. Also added to the list were historical monuments and sites in Iraq, Japan, Germany and the Netherlands.
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today in Jeddah, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal held a joint press conference with the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Iyad bin Ameen Madani, following the 41st session of the Foreign Ministers Council of the OIC. During his remarks, Prince Saud dismissed accusations made by Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki that the Kingdom supports terrorism, and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of all forms of terrorism, including the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

(WASHINGTON, DC) - In response to inquiries regarding the statement made by Prime Minister Malaki that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is supporting terrorism, the Embassy has issued the following:
“The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia expresses its total rejection of these allegations, which have no basis in fact. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been in the forefront of combating terrorism, those that support terrorism and all forms of terror financing, working in close cooperation with countries around the world, including the United States.”

Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz began the Cabinet session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah this afternoon by briefing the Council of Ministers on the recent meeting between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Moroccan King Mohammed VI. Then, the Cabinet listened to a number of reports on the latest regional and international developments.
