Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel A. Al-Jubeir held a reception in Washington, D.C. last night in honor of a number of U.S. Congress members and their staff visiting the Saudi Archeological Masterpieces through the Ages Exhibition. The exhibit is currently on display at the Freer Gallery, an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute. The reception was attended by a number of Arab and Islamic ambassadors, in addition to a number of U.S. administration officials, other members of the diplomatic corps, and employees of the Saudi Embassy in Washington.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today at the State Department. During their meeting, they renewed the Technical Cooperation Agreement that was signed during President George W. Bush’s May 2008 visit to Saudi Arabia by then-Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz and then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Prince Mohammad also had a separate meeting with Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz held meetings today with John Brennan, assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism and Treasury Deputy Secretary Neal Wolin.
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Saudi Minister of Interior His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz met with U.S. President Barack Obama today at the White House. Prince Mohammad bin Naif conveyed greetings to the president on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
The meeting was attended by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; National Security Advisor Tom Donilon; and John Brennan, assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism.
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz issued a royal order today appointing 30 women to the 150-member Majlis Al-Shura (Consultative Council).
The royal order mandates that no less than 20 percent of the Council’s members will be women. It stated, “Women, selected as members of the Shura Council, will enjoy full rights of membership, be committed to their duties, responsibilities and assume their jobs.”
Royal orders were issued today amending the Shura Council system and forming a new chamber for four years, beginning at the expiration of the term of the current Shura Council. According to the royal order, the Shura Council will consist of a Speaker and 150 members, chosen by the King according to their knowledge, experience and profession. Another royal order “will designate the members’ rights, duties and other things.” The rights of the Shura Council to form subcommittees and ad hoc committees to study specific issues are also detailed.
