(WASHINGTON, DC) – Interior Minister Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz announced this week that Saudi Arabia will begin enforcing the royal decree banning smoking in public places effective immediately. Under the official order, smoking, including shisha (waterpipe), is banned in all government facilities and most commercial areas, including restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping malls. The order also prohibits the sale of tobacco to those under the age of 18.
(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Saudi National Campaign for the Support of Brothers in Syria concluded today, raising more than $66 million. Under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the five-day campaign encouraged Saudi citizens and residents to support the people of Syria as they face prolonged suffering at the hands of their own government.
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz ordered the immediate establishment of a national campaign to raise funds to support the people of Syria. This announcement was made on July 21 by the Ministry of Interior and goes into effect this evening.
This five-day campaign allows Saudi citizens to offer their support to the Syrian people as they continue to suffer from the cruel acts of the Syrian regime.

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will donate $20 million to the UNESCO Emergency Fund. This announcement was made on Tuesday by the ambassador of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO, Ziad Aldrees.
“This contribution is not the first and would not be the last from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” stated Ambassador Aldrees. “I want to assure you that in the name of Prince Faisal bin Abdullah Al Saud, Head of the Saudi National Commission to UNESCO ... that this contribution is to support our Organization [UNESCO] and its programs.”
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Yesterday, the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, D.C. hosted a luncheon in honor of a delegation from King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE). The delegation, led by the City’s Vice President Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Sulaiman will meet with a number of officials from the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of State.
