(WASHINGTON, DC) — Today, the Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of the Somali People announced that it has raised $54 million in relief funding for the people suffering from famine in Somalia. In addition to financial assistance, donations including food, shelter materials and medical supplies have been distributed to the people of Somalia.
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz launched the Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of Somali People to collect donations for the people of Somalia suffering from drought and famine. All funds from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be transferred to an account at National Commercial Bank (NCB) under the supervision of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz.

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) recently acquired work from two contemporary Saudi artists, Ahmed Mater and Abdulnasser Gharem, which will be featured in its permanent collection on Middle Eastern and Islamic art.
“This acquisition provides people with an opportunity to learn more about Saudi art,” said Saudi Ambassador to the United States, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. “Exhibits like this strengthen cultural ties between our two nations.”

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior announced that alleged Al-Qaeda member Abdul Salam Abdulaziz Al-Faraj turned himself in to Saudi authorities. Al-Faraj was included on the Kingdom’s 47 most-wanted list released earlier this year and submitted to Interpol for extradition. He will face the same legal proceedings used in similar cases.
(WASHINGTON, DC) — On Tuesday, the Little League announced that the Arabian-American youth baseball team from Dhahran, Saudi Arabia will advance to the World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, which begins on August 18.
“The World Series provides an opportunity for youth to facilitate cultural interaction among different nations and improve understanding,” said Saudi Ambassador to the United States, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. “Saudi Arabia is committed to sports education throughout the Kingdom and is excited to be a part of this event.”
(WASHINGTON, DC) — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz approved plans last week to upgrade public libraries in Saudi Arabia through the King Abdullah Project for the Development of Public Libraries. The plan includes updating and digitalizing more than 80 public libraries throughout the Kingdom over five years.
