The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, DC will be opening its doors to the public on Saturday, May 14 as part of the annual Passport DC Around the World Embassy Tour. From 10am until 4pm, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Saudi culture through a variety of activities, exhibits and performances. Plans include folkloric dancing, the playing of traditional instruments, a fashion show and a slide show. Guests can get their pictures taken in traditional Saudi clothing, have their hands decorated with henna and receive cards with their names written in Arabic calligraphy.
More than 1.3 million people visited the Al-Janadriyah National Festival for Heritage and Culture on its ninth day, breaking the single day attendance record, according to the event’s organizers. Brig. Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Zamel reported that as of yesterday, more than 2.5 million people have attended the festivities. The Al-Janadriyah Festival, organized annually by the National Guard, was opened to the public on April 14 and will last for sixteen days.

More than 200,000 people have visited the 26th Al-Janadriyah National Festival for Heritage and Culture as of yesterday, according to official figures released today. The event, which was inaugurated on Wednesday and opened to the public on Thursday, will last for 16 days. The official report noted that the pavilion of Japan, the guest of honor at the festival, witnessed a particularly large turnout.
