(WASHINGTON, DC) – The following are remarks delivered by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir at the U.S.-Saudi Business Opportunities Forum in Chicago on April 28, 2010:

It is a pleasure for me to speak to you tonight.
At the outset, I would like to express my thanks to all the individuals who have made this event possible. I also want to thank all the participants in this conference.
The U.S.-Saudi Business Opportunities Forum, a two-day event organized by the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the U.S. Saudi Arabian Business Council and a number of notable figures from the Saudi and American business communities, opened today in Chicago. Representatives from the Kingdom are on hand to present a diverse selection of investment opportunities to the American audience.

An International Counter-Terrorism Center is Needed to Enhance Information Sharing.
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Saudi Ambassador to the United States, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir today renewed the Kingdom’s call for multinational collaboration and information-sharing to improve efforts to combat terrorism and enhance public safety. Ambassador Al-Jubeir said, “Information is one of the most effective weapons in fighting terrorism, and nations committed to combating terrorism must do more to improve the exchange information in order to improve public safety.”
(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir today offered his condolences to the family and friends of American pilot Joseph W. Grant.
“On behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Captain Joe Grant. Captain Grant served an important role in the early days of the modern Saudi state as the first airline pilot for King Abdulaziz in 1945. He assisted in bringing aviation to the Kingdom, which earned him the King Abdulaziz Medal- First Class."
(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir will be speaking at the US-Saudi Business Opportunities Forum, which is being held in Chicago from April 27-29. The event, the first of its kind, has been organized by the Committee for International Trade (Saudi Chambers of Commerce) and the U.S. Saudi Arabian Business Council in partnership with U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel A. Al-Jubeir today met with members of the Saudi delegation and a participant in the 2010 International Sustainable World Project Olympiad, known as I-SWEEEP.
Saudi Arabia was represented by four participants, all of whom were honored.

The Council of Senior Ulema considers the ruling on the “financing of terrorism” by judging that “terrorism” is a crime aiming at destabilizing security, and constitutes a grave offense against innocent lives as well as against properties whether public or private; such as: blowing up of dwellings, schools, hospitals, factories, bridges; airplanes (including hijacking), oil and pipelines, or any similar acts of destruction or subversion outlawed by the Islamic Shariah [law].
A twelve-member U.S. Boy Scout delegation is currently visiting the Kingdom as part of an exchange program between the Saudi Arabian Boy Scouts Association and the Boy Scouts of America. The Association’s Vice President, Dr. Abdullah bin Suleiman Al-Fahd, said that the visit aims to educate the U.S. scout delegation on the Kingdom, its civilization and its historical sites.
