Defense Minister receives Commander of U.S. Central Command

Minister of Defense Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz received the Commander of U.S. Central Command, Gen. James Mattis, and his accompanying delegation in Riyadh yesterday. The two sides exchanged cordial talks and discussed topics of common interest. The meeting was attended by Director General of the Office of the Minister of Defense Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Rubaia’an and Deputy U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom Thomas E. Williams. Today, Prince Salman received another U.S. delegation, this one led by Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military Affairs Andrew J. Shapiro.
Meanwhile, Gen. Mattis held a meeting in Riyadh today with Chief of the General Staff Gen. Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Qabil, during which bilateral issues were discussed.
