Contract signed with Raytheon for civil navigational radars

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, in his capacity as President of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), has signed a SR 222 million [$59.2 million] contract with U.S. company Raytheon for civil navigational radar systems. The deal includes the manufacturing, installation and servicing of twenty-one modern surveillance systems, which will provide radar coverage for the entire Saudi airspace and monitor air traffic routes at altitudes of 15,000 feet and above. The contract will enter into force within 36-month of its signing.
