Arab League Council calls on Syrian opposition to attend Geneva II conference

Vice Foreign Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz led the Saudi delegation to an extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Arab League Council in Cairo today. The session was called to discuss the Syrian conflict, particularly the prospects for the Geneva II peace conference and the efforts of U.N.-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi.
Following the consultations, the Arab League Council called on all Syrian opposition parties, led by the National Coalition for the Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, to form a delegation and actively participate in the Geneva II conference.
