October 21, 2009

The Princess Nourah Oncology Center, an affiliate of the National Guard’s King Abdulaziz Medical City, organized in cooperation with Detroit University the “Second International Conference on Breast Cancer” at the Jeddah Intercontinental Hotel yesterday. More than 200 specialists from the U.S., Germany, Jordan, Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states participated in the event.

President of the Princess Nourah Oncology Center Dr. Abdul Andigani announced, “The conference will have more than fourteen working papers dealing with the latest developments in diagnosis and therapy, reflecting the summary of the experiences of international research centers specialized in this field.” Procedures for using the latest diagnostic equipment, which is now available at the Princess Nourah Oncology Center, will also be addressed, Dr. Andigani added.

The event, sponsored by global pharmaceutical firm Roche, is held biennially in October, coinciding with International Breast Cancer Awareness Month and giving impetus to the October Breast Cancer Risk Campaign.
