King Abdullah receives King of Morocco

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received Moroccan King Mohammed VI at his palace in Jeddah yesterday. During their meeting, the two monarchs discussed bilateral cooperation and regional issues, especially the Palestinian cause and the Syrian crisis. King Mohammed also met with President of the Allegiance-Pledge Commission Prince Mishal bin Abdulaziz and Special Envoy Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz. Afterwards, King Abdullah held a luncheon in honor of the Moroccan leader. Then, King Mohammad traveled to Makkah, where he performed Umrah (minor Hajj) rituals.
A number of Saudi and Moroccan ministers also met yesterday for a joint session at the Conference Palace in Jeddah. After the meeting, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al-Asheikh said that a number of developmental projects in Morocco in the agricultural, hotel, transportation, telecommunications, health and educational sectors were reviewed. In a statement, Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf said that the ministers discussed bilateral economic cooperation, particularly efforts to enhance the role of the private sector. They also discussed investments between the two countries, he added, and the role of the Saudi Fund for Development in Morocco’s health, transport, and agricultural sectors. In their own statements, a number of Moroccan ministers lauded the Kingdom’s developmental projects in their country.
On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al-Asheikh; Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf; Minister of Agriculture Dr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Balghunaim; Transport Minister Dr. Jubarah Al-Suraiseri; Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah; Vice President of the Saudi Fund for Development Yousef Al-Bassam; and Adviser at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Abdulrahman Al-Abdulkarim.
The Moroccan delegation included Advisors to the King Omar Aziman, Zaleekha Nasseri, Fuad Ali Al-Himmah, and Yasser Al-Zanaki; Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Tawfik; Minister of Economy and Finance Nizar Baraka; Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Aziz Akhenouch; Minister of Equipment and Transport Aziz Rabbah; Minister of Health Al-Hussein Al-Wardi; and Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment Fouad Al-Douiri.
