The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) is financing a project to build homes for displaced people in the Afghan-Pakistani border region. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Office of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), was launched yesterday in Islamabad. In a statement, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Abdulaziz Al-Ghadeer said that the project involves building 1,025 houses at a cost of $8 million. The money is being provided by the SFD as a part of the $100 million grant allocated by the Kingdom to help displaced people in Pakistan through UN organizations.
