1st Saudi relief plane departs for Sri Lanka

In implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, which called for the provision of aid to the government of Sri Lanka, the first Saudi relief plane left King Khalid International Airport last night headed for Colombo. The plane was loaded with 100,653 tons of foodstuffs, medicines, rugs, blankets and tents. Sri Lanka is currently suffering through a humanitarian crisis that has resulted in the displacement of thousands of people.
