SFD finances $311 million in projects in developing nations

The Saudi Fund for Development (SDF) financed sixteen developmental projects in several Asian and African developing countries in 2008, providing a total of SR 1.17 billion [$311.52 million]. According to the organization’s annual report, the SFD also jointly funded nine other projects in nine developing countries with an additional SR 752 million [$200.57]. Since its inception in 1975, the SFD has provided SR 28.896 billion [$7.706 billion] in financing for 430 economic and developmental projects and programs in 73 countries.
