Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, yesterday rejected Iraqi claims that Saudi Arabia has adopted “negative positions” on repairing diplomatic ties with Baghdad and denied charges that Saudis were entering into Iraq through the Saudi-Iraqi border, Al-Watan Arabic daily reported today.

“The Iraqi government knows where the (foreign) fighters come from," said Prince Nayef.  Prince Nayef also urged Iraq to improve border security to prevent the infiltration of Iraqis into Saudi Arabia.

Prince Nayef said the Kingdom wants only what is in Iraq’s best interests and would not allow any harm against Iraq’s government and people, Al-Watan reported.  “The Kingdom only wants the welfare and stability of Iraq.  “The Kingdom does what is in the best interest of Iraq and its people and the return of Iraq to its unity and sovereignty.
