Prince Saud Al-Faisal holds talks with Chinese President Xi

Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal was received by Chinese President Xi Jinping during an official trip to Beijing. During the reception, Prince Saud conveyed a message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to the Chinese leader regarding the enhancement of bilateral relations and international issues of common interest.
President Xi called for enhancing exchanges and strengthening mutual trust between China and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in order to build more mature, stable, friendly and sustainable strategic relations. He affirmed that China is committed to promoting peace talks in the region and finding political solutions to many issues.
Prince Saud said that the Kingdom is ready to work with China to expand cooperation and increase coordination on key regional affairs, noting that Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to its relations with China.
Afterwards, Prince Saud held extended talks with Chinese State Counselor Yang Jiechi and Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi. The discussions focused on bilateral relations and regional and international issues, particularly the conflict in Syria, the Palestinian issue and the Iranian nuclear crisis.
