Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal was received by Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi in Cairo today. During their meeting, they discussed boosting bilateral relations and reviewed the latest developments in the region. The session was also attended by Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf and Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan.

Afterwards, Prince Saud traveled to Amman, where he was received this evening by King Abdullah II of Jordan. According to a Jordanian statement, Prince Saud and the King discussed bilateral cooperation in a variety of fields, as well as relations between Jordan and the Gulf Arab States. King Abdullah II expressed appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and other Gulf leaders for supporting Jordan’s request to join the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The accession of Jordan to the group, he said, will cement the historical bonds between the region’s countries.
