The Fourth Saudi Solar Energy Forum, organized by the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE), concluded in Riyadh yesterday. Participants at the forum discussed opportunities for promoting solar energy inside the Kingdom, focusing on the theme “Setting the Environment for Local Private Investments.”

During an address at the opening ceremony of the two-day forum, KACARE Deputy President Dr. Waleed Al-Faraj said that his institution will begin implementing its solar strategy this year. “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will save 360-520 thousand barrels [of oil] per day through the implementation of its solar energy plan by 2032,” he stated.
