Arab League Foreign Ministers meet in Cairo

An extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Foreign Ministers Council began in Cairo today under the chairmanship of Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The Kingdom’s delegation to the meeting is being headed by Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal.

Earlier, a closed consultation meeting was held between the Arab Foreign Ministers, Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi, and a number of other officials. According to Kuwait’s Representative to Arab League, Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim, “The meeting discussed a number of agenda items relating to the Syrian crisis, developments in the situation between Sudan and South Sudan and the visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the UAE island of Abu Musa.”
