Tuberculosis and AIDS prevention workshop launched

Dr. Ziayd Maimesh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Preventive Medicine, opened on Sunday a two-day workshop for coordinators of tuberculosis and AIDS prevention programs in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) Office in Saudi Arabia.

In an address to the gathering, held at Al-Qasr Holiday Inn in Riyadh, Dr. Maimesh noted that the national program to combat tuberculosis and AIDS has 90 trainees who are being coached by 15 specialized trainers. Implemented by the Ministry of Health, the program is focused on early detection and the provision of proper therapy, he added.
