February 10, 2009

Prime Minister of Pakistani Kashmir Sirdar Khan opened today in Muzafarabad a medical clinic funded by the Saudi Relief Campaign.

The campaign was organized to provide aid and support to residents of areas hit by the 2005 earthquake.

Campaign Regional Director Dr. Khalid Al-Othamni noted that the campaign has funded the construction of five other medical clinics and centers in cooperation with UNICEF.

The campaign has also finished working on a number of other reconstruction projects, including the rebuilding of more than 4,000 houses in Blakut City, as well as schools and other crucial facilities.

UNICEF’s Representative in Kashmir said that the clinic will serve up to 100,000 people in the devastated region.
