IIRO contributes $2.39 million for Gaza relief

The Saudi-based International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) has contributed SR 8,950,000 [$2.39 million] worth of relief assistance to Palestinians in Gaza.

 

This includes a SR 3,750,000 [$1 million] contribution to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).

The IIRO is preparing to contribute a similar amount to finance the construction of a field hospital in Gaza. It also plans to provide food, medical supplies and shelter for the homeless.

The IIRO has initiated several programs to assistant Palestinians, in coordination with the UNRWA, the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization and the World Health Organization (WHO).
