Yemeni President lays foundation stone for King Abdullah Medical City

Yemeni President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi laid a foundation stone for the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Medical City project in Sana’a today. The venture is projected to cost $230 million, $200 million of which will be provided by Saudi Arabia. At the site of the foundation, President Hadi met with the Vice Executive President of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Ibrahim Yousef Al-Bassem.

The Yemeni President also laid foundation stones today for a new ring road in southern Sana’a and a tunnel. The SFD is providing $50 million of the $62 million budget for these projects. Furthermore, President Hadi was briefed on an initiative to develop and rehabilitate low income areas in a number of Yemeni districts. The SFD has completed its study of the project and approved $50 million in funding.

The Yemeni leader thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Saudi Arabia for their continuous support for his country.
