Medical City project launched in Abha

Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Al-Angary today signed a contract for the Medical City Project at King Khalid University in Abha.  The project SR1.9 billion ($506 million) includes a 400-bed university hospital, faculties of medicine, medical science, pharmacy and dentistry.

In a statement following the signing ceremony, Dr. Al-Angary said that the project is an extension of previous contracts signed by the Ministry and that the first stage of the University City Project at King Khalid University is currently being executed at a cost of more than SR2.2 billion ($587 million). The minister added that the first stage of a SR6.5 billion ($1.73 billion) faculty housing project at all Saudi universities is also underway.
