Prince Salman named Defense Minister, Prince Sattam appointed Riyadh Governor

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has issued a number of royal decree today:

Governor of Riyadh Prince Sattam
Renaming the Ministry of Defense, Aviation and Inspectorate General the Ministry of Defense; appointing Riyadh Governor Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz as Minister of Defense; relieving Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of his post as Deputy Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; appointing Prince Khalid bin Sultan as Deputy Minister of Defense; appointing Deputy Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz as Riyadh Governor; appointing Prince Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz as Deputy Governor of Riyadh; appointing Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Saud as Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation at the rank of minister and Dr. Faisal bin Hamad Al-Suqair as Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation at the Excellent rank; relieving Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Hadeethi of his post as Head of the Crown Prince’s Court; appointing Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz as Head of the Crown Prince’s Court and Special Advisor to the Crown Prince at the rank of minister; relieving Mohammed bin Salem Al-Marri of his post as Special Secretary to the Crown Prince; appointing Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Rubaia’an as Special Secretary to the Crown Prince at the rank of Minister. The orders are with immediate effect.
