Pilgrims begin departing from the Kingdom

October 31, 2012

Following the completion of Hajj rituals, thousands of pilgrims have begun departing the Kingdom for their home countries. According to new regulations issued by the Ministry of Hajj, all foreign pilgrims are required to be at the airport six hours before the scheduled departure of their flight. Pilgrims leaving by sea are instructed to arrive at the seaport 18 hours ahead of their departure time. The Ministry of Hajj has instructed Hajj companies to double check departure times and to coordinate with licensed transportation companies. A Ministry spokesman, Hatim Qadhi, said that these rules were established after extensive consultations between Hajj officials and the General Authority of Civil Aviation. “Non-compliance with the new regulations carries penalties,” he warned.
