Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal met with French President Francois Hollande, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh at Elysee Palace in Paris today. During the session, the officials discussed the crisis in Syria and coordinated their countries’ positions. They reaffirmed the need to prevent the Assad regime from repeating its use of chemical weapons and vowed to push for a negotiated political solution that will establish a free and united Syria.

Afterwards, French officials issued a statement, saying, “The French president and the foreign ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan stress the importance of strengthening international support for the Syrian opposition to enable them to cope with the intransigency of the regime in Damascus, which is in favor of the radical movements in Syria and could threaten the regional and international security.”
