September 9, 2012
The Interior Ministry is warning Saudi citizens against traveling to Ethiopia based on the current unrest prevailing in that country. It cited Ethiopia’s internal tension, including clashes that have occurred between members of the federal police and the Muslim community. In particular, the Interior Ministry pointed to the recent arrests by Ethiopian security officials of a number of Muslims, including some Saudi citizens. The warning, it added, is being issued due to safety concerns and will remain in effect until the situation calms down.
