Court convicts 24 on terrorism-related charges

A specialized court in Riyadh today convicted 24 defendants, including an American and a Yemeni, of terrorism-related crimes and sentenced them to between two and 27 years in prison. The defendant were convicted of membership in one of the Kingdom’s most violent terrorist cell. The defendants were convicted of membership in extremists groups in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, travelling or planning to travel abroad to joint terrorist-led war, setting up a terrorist cell to target oil pipelines and oil workers, terror financing, weapons offenses, and rendering assistance to wanted terrorists.
The defendants have thirty days to appeal their convictions.
