Holy Ka’abah washed in advance of Ramadan

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Makkah Governor Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz washed the Holy Ka’abah today.

Upon his arrival at the venue, Prince Khalid was received by Deputy of the Makkah Principality for Security Affairs Prince Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Saud and Vice President-General of the Holy Mosque of Makkah Affairs Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Khozaim. Participants in the washing ceremony included visiting Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, heads of governmental departments, members of the Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom, groups of citizens, and Umrah performers.

The Prince and his companions washed inside the Ka'abah with pieces of cloth dipped with Zamzam water and mixed with rose water.

The Ka'abah is washed twice a year, once in the month of Shaaban month and again in the month of Muharram.
