NATO Secretary General praises Crown Prince Nayef

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen expressed his condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz today on the death of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz. This came during Rasmussen’s meeting in Brussels with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Nizar Madani. “The late Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz was a strong statesman who served his country with dedication and commitment,” Rasmussen said. “He will be remembered around the world for his significant contribution to establishing international peace and security, especially in the fight against terrorism.”
According to a statement issued by NATO’s Media Bureau, Rasmussen and Dr. Madani also discussed political dialogue and practical cooperation activities within the framework of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative. The statement characterized Saudi Arabia is an important country in the region and welcomed its participation in the initiative.
