June 12, 2010
Saudi Ambassador to Cameroon Mahmoud Kattan has handed over 90 tons of dates to the head of the U.N. Food Program in the country, Khalodo Saliha, in the capital of Yaoundé. The humanitarian aid was offered as a gift from the Saudi government to the people of Cameroon. Speaking on the occasion, Saliha praised Saudi support for Cameroon, noting that last year the Kingdom donated $329,000 to the local UN Food Program. The funds were used to purchase 215 tons of grains, which were distributed to refugees from the Central African Republic.
