King Receives French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry Christine Lagarde and her accompanying delegation in Jeddah today. During the audience, the French official conveyed the greetings of French President Nicolas Sarkozy and, in turn, the King extended his greetings to the President. Then, issues of bilateral interest were discussed.
The audience was attended by Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz; Advisor to the King Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) Dr. Mohammed Al-Jasser; and French Ambassador to the Kingdom Bertrand Besancenot.
Lagarde and her delegation also met today with Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf. During their talks, the two sides reviewed the global economic situation, the repercussions from the global financial crisis, and the efforts exerted by Group of Twenty (G-20) nations to overcome them. They also discussed issues of common economic interest, such as bilateral investment.
