King Abdullah receives U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received at his palace in Jeddah today United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and an accompanying delegation. After exchanging cordial greetings, the two sides discussed international efforts to combat terrorism under the umbrella of the United Nations. Secretary General Ban praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts in this regard, expressing thanks to King Abdullah for his patronage of the Meeting of the Advisory Board of United Nations Counterterrorism Center held yesterday in Jeddah. In addition, regional and international developments were discussed, with particular attention given to the ongoing bloodshed in Syria.
The audience was attended by Minister of Defense Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz; Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal; Commander of the National Guard Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir; and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mualami.
Secretary Ban also held separate meetings with Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal; Minister of Defense Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz; and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi.
