Health Ministry launches awareness campaign to combat coronavirus

Acting Minister of Health Adel Faqih launched a public awareness campaign today as part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus that causes Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The effort aims at providing people with the information and instructions necessary to prevent new infections. Key recommendations include maintaining good hygiene through regular hand-washing and taking precautions when dealing with raw camel meat and non-boiled milk. The campaign, launched in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), will be seen in the coming weeks in various formats, including video clips and information graphics on the Ministry of Health’s website (www.moh.gov.sa).

Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Health relieved the Director and Deputy Director of King Fahd Hospital of their posts, appointing new individuals in their place.
