Saudi-American Trade and Investment Council kicks off meetings
April 29, 2014
The Saudi-American Trade and Investment Council began the meetings of the 4th session of its Joint Committee in Washington, D.C. yesterday. The Joint Committee was formed under the Framework Convention for the Development of Trade and Investment Relations between the Kingdom and the United States, signed in Washington in July 2003. The aim of the current session is to explore ways to further develop, promote and support U.S.-Saudi cooperation in the economic, trade, investment and technological fields. Participants are expected to discuss obstacles to increased cooperation and barriers to the flow of trade. In addition, the two sides will review the proper organizational foundations necessary for achieving goals and ensuring the application of previously signed agreements.
The Saudi delegation to the meetings includes a number of representatives from a cross-section of government agencies.
