Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal led the Saudi delegation to the Arab League ministerial session held in Amman today. Also in attendance were the foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine.
The purpose of the meeting was to complete the consultations begun during the recent Arab summit in Doha. The foreign ministers discussed strategies for strengthening Arab unity and stressed the importance of presenting a united front regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict. They reiterated their commitment to achieving a two-state solution based on the Arab Peace Initiative. However, they expressed concern over Israel’s new right-wing government.
