March 17, 2010
Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz traveled to Jazan Province yesterday for an inspection tour of armed forces stationed on the Kingdom’s southern border. After meeting with the troops, the Crown Prince delivered a speech in which he praised them for their courage and commitment to defending their homeland. He congratulated them on their recent victory against militants who crossed into the Kingdom from Yemen, while expressing regret that the event occurred. “We did not seek or wish such things to happen because what binds us with Yemen are common elements, shared history, one blood and one destiny,” he said, reaffirming the strong relationship between the two countries. Concluding his speech, the Crown Prince announced a contribution of SR 50 million [$13.33 million] to the armed forces stationed along Jazan’s southern border.
