Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the General Supervisor of the Saudi Relief Campaigns, sponsored the opening events of the “Day of Solidarity with the Children of Syria” at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh today. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz directed that the Day of Solidarity be held throughout Saudi Arabia in order to raise awareness and increase assistance for the millions of Syrian children suffering from violence and deteriorating living conditions inside and outside of their country.
Upon arrival at the venue, Prince Mohammed and Riyadh Governor Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz opened an exhibition and toured the pavilions. Subsequently, speeches were delivered and a film on the plight of Syrian children was screened.
Addressing the event, the Regional Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zeeg, remarked on the long partnership between his organization and the Kingdom.
