Civil Defense issues report on Jeddah floods

Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Qarni, a Civil Defense official, said in a report issued yesterday that ten people died in the recent flooding in Jeddah Province, while 114 people were injured. Rescuers continue to search for three people who remain missing. Furthermore, 10,318 houses and 7,270 vehicles were damaged. According to the report, as many as 5,775 families and 27,142 people have been housed by the Housing Committees set up by the Civil Defense and the Ministry of Finance. The Red Crescent still has 15 teams, 23 ambulances and 2 aircraft operating in Jeddah, while the Civil Defense has participated with 1,786 officers and servicemen and 205 pieces of equipment and machinery.
