Arab Parliamentary Union concludes conference in Qatar

The Arab Parliamentary Union concluded its 17th Conference in Doha yesterday. The Saudi delegation to the gathering, which lasted for three days, was headed by Speaker of the Majlis Al-Shura Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Asheikh. During the meeting, a wide array of subjects were discussed, including the plight of the Palestinians, developmental strategies, democracy promotion, protecting human rights, and strengthening the position of the Arab world on the international stage. In a final statement, the delegates emphasized the importance of achieving Arab solidarity, closing ranks to confront the challenges facing Arab nations, and overcoming the difficulties hindering their development and progress.
