King Abdullah receives U.S. CENTCOM Commander

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received Commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM) Gen. James Mattis and his accompanying delegation in Riyadh today. During the audience, Gen. Mattis conveyed the greetings of U.S. President Barack Obama, which were reciprocated by the King. The meeting included Defense Minister Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz; Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Meqrin bin Abdulaziz; Jazan Governor Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz; Commander of the National Guard Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Adviser to the King Prince Mansour bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz; and a number of other officials.
The U.S. delegation also held a separate meeting with Prince Salman, during which the Minister of Defense decorated Gen. Mattis with the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Rank in recognition of his outstanding efforts in strengthening the ties of friendship and joint cooperation between the Kingdom and the U.S. That audience was attended by Chief of the General Staff Gen. Hussein Al-Qabil; Director General of the Office of the Minister of Defense Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Bunyan; and U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom James Smith.
