Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrived in Riyadh today on a four-day official visit to the Kingdom.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received President Gul at his palace for talks. The two leaders discussed developments in the Middle East, especially the Palestinian cause. They agreed that international efforts must be intensified to achieve just and comprehensive peace based on international resolutions and the Arab peace initiative.
King Abdullah and President Gul also discussed ways of boosting bilateral relations in various fields to serve the interests of both countries.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense and Aviation Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Prince Bandar bin Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Adviser to the King Prince Abdul-Ilah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Interior Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz, President of General Intelligence Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz and other Saudi princes.
President Gul’s official delegation included Minister of State Kursad Tuzmen, Minister of National Defense Mehmet Vecdi Gonul, Minister of Transportation Binali Yildirim and a number of other senior Turkish officials.
Following the meeting, two agreements were signed regarding bilateral cooperation in the fields of youth and sports and maritime transport.
