Arab foreign ministers held a closed-door meeting in Cairo today to discuss the Middle East peace process and Lebanon.

The extraordinary meeting was convened at the request of Saudi Arabia, which was represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal.

Discussions focused on the latest developments in the Palestinian situation, notably Israeli settlements and their negative impact on the peace process. Lebanon was also addressed in light of its December 28 announcement to postpone holding presidential elections until January 12.
