January 5, 2010
Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal delivered a message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak during an audience in Sharm Al-Sheikh today. Afterwards, Prince Saud held a joint press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu Al-Ghait, during which they reaffirmed the conformity of Saudi and Egyptian views on various Arab issues.
During his remarks, Prince Saud noted that the Arab Peace Initiative is still on the table and has the potential to end the Arab-Israeli conflict. However, he warned, the proposal can only be implemented as a full package and cannot be changed in bits and pieces. Lamented the lack of progress in the Peace Process, Prince Saud urged Palestinian reconciliation and Arab unity on the issue.
