$32 million raised in the Kingdom for Palestinian relief

During an eleven-hour charity telethon launched yesterday on Saudi Television, a total SR 119,126,371 [$32 million] was raised to aid suffering Palestinians.

 

The live broadcast solicited donations for the "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Campaign for the Relief of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip." Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz announced the launch of the campaign on January 3.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz personally contributed SR 30 million [$8 million] to the fund. Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz provided an additional SR 10 million [$2.7 million].

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Campaign continues to receive sizable donations from across the Kingdom and abroad.
