The university’s president, Dr. Suleiman Abalkhail, made the announcement November 12.
The new center aims to highlight the greatness of Islam, its ability to address modern issues, human rights, women’s rights in Islam, and issues related to youth and family. It will also explain Islam’s stand on terrorism and promote dialogue among cultures, Abalkhail said.
The center will be financed by different sources, including the university’s budget, donations and endowments, as well as income from research programs, specialized courses and investments, Abalkhail added.
